heat wave
everyone is talking about the weather, lets face it.... it is hot hot hot!
yesterday 108 when i got in my car...i will be yearning for a day like this come January and that is why I am not complaining [or the fact that i work in an air conditioned office all day!]
here are a few ways we avoided the heat this weekend/week:
Traverse City!
The scenic outlook that I want to stop every time we pass, finally did and lets be honest it was a bit of a let down...
Lipinski pool, Ben loves the water!
Family dinner, relaxing and watching the cars! Look at me guys...I am standing!

if i would walk 500 miles
then I would start by determining the perfect destination.
the whippy dip or as the rest of the world knows the cone shop.
the way there was a piece of cake. We had ice cream on my mind [malt mix and chocolate], we had plenty to talk about [the bogo is departing from me without communication for almost 3 weeks btw Brazil and UK, tear] and it was a beautiful night.
the way back....now that is another story, filled with many distractions
[1] speedy. Refrained from 44oz and went for 32oz, extra weight to power through
[2] ace hardware caught our eye...things we learned. They close at 8 but if you stand in front of the automatic door and act dumb [or just clueless in our case] they will let you in. They have a bridal registry. and best of all they do carry the scrubby we were in search of!
[3] upward battle of the hills and reminiscing of reeds lake walks
[4] smell of doughnuts, seriously you are killing me
[5[ over all fact by this point the old ladies [betty and dolores] were just tired!
once we arrived back to Betsy's house we decided that it would be a good [and patriotic] thing to go down to Betty Ford's memorial
So we put our walking shoes back and headed downtown [well we drove, then walked] I am glad we went down. It was neat to be able to see and experience.
Fun night all around, not going to lie. At one point I was [i say WAS because Betsy corrected me!] an athlete...not I am not sure anymore....my legs were tired!
PS: I think I saw secret service at the Y this morning....he was a fitness manic! had to be secret service. If i never see him back at the y, I am confirming it as truth!

CORRECTION - Feeling like the jelly doughnut
i never post twice in a day...but it has been brought to my attention that I may be misleading my readers [aka betsy and my mom! love you guys!]
anywhoooo here is the correct info straight from the American Girl Doll guru:

Seems as though that is always the last one to go of the bunch when our favorite sales rep brings down the infamous golden ticket to get in the door MARGES! Yummmoo
Anyway the other day I felt like the Jelly doughnut, why might you ask??
It was because I felt like I was the last in the world to know something…..see as I was panning through the American girl doll catalogue [thanks to my parents who still get this catalogue] and discovered that my favorite doll Kirsten Larson wasn’t there.
I promptly emailed dear Betsy to ask what the issue was and she responded back that they are discontinuing dolls one at a time.

How can this be???
How will all the new little girls of the world learn about the Pioneer Era?
It is a sad shame....I am still copping with it all…but I feel as time passes I will manage!

things that amaze me...
that somehow it is already july 1st. please slow down!
that people at the y.m.c.a. [workin on your fitness, she's my witness] use the elevator. mind boggling
that the word friday instantly makes me happy
that the Meijer seafoam code is ingrained in my memory. on cue to the cashier yesterday #1227
that Mcdizzles can have a broken ice cream machine and then think it is legit to offer me a pie instead. i.don't.think.so.
that every word to N'syncs 'here we go' was remembered and yelled out [motions included] last night
that two girls can eat half a loaf of zucchini bread just while standing in the kitchen
that art van is having the largest sale ever. big big big. never before.
that my nephew has two teeth coming in...but you are just a baby, little peanut!
