half baked

little bun/bean in the oven
and still got a horn honk on our lunch walk yesterday
oh they may need glasses haha ;-)

20 weeks
Mango

and with half of beans growth done, I thought I would give 10 facts or thoughts I have had so far
Like:
1. I may not crave pickles but I have 'craved" lobster rolls, seafoam and McDonalds Ice cream
[not all at once!]
2. Food aversions were really bad in the beginning, but two that continue to hold strong.
No Tacos/salsa/beans and No Hamburgers
3.  Yes some days I get tired just walking up the YMCA stairs, some days not so much.
4.  I have started feeling the little guy/girl for about a week ish..at first I wasn't sure... now it seems to come more constant and being more noticeable...and that is just amazing to me!  my permanent little buddy
5.  I learned that the bean is covered in a 'cottage cheese' like substance to keep it skin hydrated and that fact right there grosses J right out...and we have a LONG way to go ;-)
6. J mocks me of my new sleep habits aka 4 pillows later and two potty breaks a night
[i hear it only gets worse!]
7. I do not have to wear maternity clothes everyday but if it is not a dress, then it is a must...no more button pants for a bit!! bring on the elastic
8.  'Pregnancy brain' does exist.  Like the time I left the toaster oven door open not once, not twice, but three times in one day!  hard to cook a piece of toast that way
9.  Yes you have crazy dreams...and it feels like all night long.  Like crazy...anywhere from bombs, to parties, to people going to Disney world.  Yes crazy!
10. I am so thrilled and nervous about everything!  I have many lists of things to do daily.. weather researching a stroller, bedding or preparing the nursery...reading preparation books/trying to be prepared.  But continually praying for this little miracle and its growth and trying to soak up every bit of this time!

20 more weeks to go...and probably not enough time :)

Surfing - check

Everybody surfing. California girl.
And about 8 other songs I knew!
Beach Boys at the FMG
I knew more songs at this concert than any other one this summer!

Check that box.
Talked about going to a fair all summer (mostly to get a elephant ear...don't judge)
Well it wasn't a fair but it was the Hispanic festival!!
Thet had them. So we got one.
Success!

Not giving up on summer yet! :)

Such good speakers Wednesday night at the Kent GOP dinner
Nice dinner. Nice company equals a nice night.

Even got to meet Bobby Jindal.

Food processor time

Monday. It is a beast of a machine but it is productive
Shredded a whole giant zucchini
We have received a lot of Z this year from one of Js coworkers.
I have tried to capitlilaze on it.

First up zucchini soup

Second more zucchini bread

Third frozen shredded zucchini (for soup and or bread this winter)

And fourth just because soft pretzels

I would say a day off gave me enough time to get my baking fix! :)

no laboring this

weekend.  we had lots of fun being up north and home

No laboring part one:
Traverse City one more time around with my parentals
such a great time!  the weather again didn't want to hold up, but we found plenty to do without needing a lot of sun
We drove up the peninsula on Saturday stopping in the little towns
we shopped, walked around and ate
it was really pretty and fun to do

Suttons Bay

Glen Arbor [which always makes us think of the Logan clan!]

and one more thing to check off the summer must do
Dons Drive in for a malt!
It was so good!! just like I remembered

No Laboring Part Two:
Home
Sunday ended up being a nicer day
So I decided to capitalize on the sun and the Us Open

Then one more boat for the season...hoping not the end end

Jeep ride out to Holland...
in his glory...and it was a beautiful night for it

Meet up with this lovely and her hubby for a bike ride
and my FIRST visit of the season to caption sundae
kinda shameful it took me this long :)

Biked to the state park and saw the beginning of a beautiful sunset

Laboring Part Three:
was truly the most relaxing of the days
watched tennis, walks, nap, baking, errands
it was a grand day

always a bittersweet weekend
I just love summer and hate to see it end
BUT it is a must...so on ward and up ward
and hope Michigan weather cooperates a little while longer!

Jackpot. Victory.

I had decided that seafoam was a must.
Not at meijers. Super sad face.
BUT victory was found at Forest Hills Foods

Seafoam. Seafoam!!
Oh so good!

Let's not talk about about the price. Just the goodness.
I sure do miss meijers bulk food section. :)
